Guilty, your honor!
Here are signs that you are stuck in the 80s, unlike Madonna who obviously has moved on:
- You still believe that Corey Hart has the sexiest pair of eyes even if he wears sunglasses at night.
- You sing to Pat Benatar’s "We Belong" in the shower
- You listen to RX 93.1 on Wednesdays, Magic 89.9 on Fridays, and 94.7 on Sundays
- You know the lyrics to Seona Dancing’s "More to Lose" and can sing along to the extended remix version without missing a single note or word.
- You still believe that the new wave genre was the best thing that ever happened to the music scene.
- You feel proud that Madonna is still in the Billboard charts.
- You have a CD collection of 80s bands like Eurythmics, Tears for Fears, Hall and Oates, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, A-ha, The Cure, Depeche Mode, etc
- You know names of the artists that performed in "Do They Know It’s Christmas" in the sequence that they appeared on the video
- You know who John Taylor is and you sigh (if you’re a girl or dream of becoming one) at how handsome he used to look.
- You miss listening to DWXB102 back when it was still known as “the station that dares to be different” and you still think that Cool Carla is the coolest chick ever.
- You have at least one pirated “Lost in the 80s” or “The Chorus Girl” collection CD.
- You cringe when you hear local artists do a cover of new wave songs like ViMo singing Soft Cell’s “Tainted Love” or Orange and Lemons using the tune of The Care’s "Chandeliers" on their (bwaaahgk…..!) Pinoy Big Brother song. So shameful.
- You call skinny jeans “stretch” pants and layered hair “ shaggy”.
All I can say is .. we belong... we belong... we belong together....
