The Man Who Can't Be Moved (The Script): My Favorite Song This Month

I heard their debut song “We Cry” (posted on slide 2), thought it was Jason Mraz singing (sorry!) and just had to look for more songs from this band. Found out they are an Irish band from Dublin, stumbled upon their other song about a man who waits on one corner for a lost love, and listened to the song over and over and over again.

The three man band is composed of Danny O’Donoghue on vocals and keys, Mark Sheehan on guitars and Glen Powers on drums.

Their debut album will be released this month!

Who wouldn’t fall in love with these lyrics? So sad and romantic… (sigh)…

Going back to the corner where I first saw you. Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I’m not gonna move. People talk about the guy who’s waiting in on a girl. There are no holes in his shoes but a big hole in his world. Maybe I’ll get famous as the man who can’t be moved. And maybe you won’t mean to but you’ll see me on the news. And you’d come running to the corner 'cause you’ll know it’s just for you. I’m the man who can’t be moved.

Who Said Life Was Fair?

Every time I crave for bacon or chicharon, I can’t help but think how life can be unfair at times. Did you know that two slices of that crispy, juicy, yummy bacon contains more than 100 calories? Sabihin nyo nga?! ---- asan ang hustisya? !!

Along with chicharon and bacon, I also list down contraceptives, family planning, and vasectomy as other signs that life is unfair, at least for me. For two years now my husband and I have been trying to have a baby. I was lucky to conceive but was unlucky to have a miscarriage and we lost the baby at twelve weeks. It was one of the saddest moments of my life. Although we have not given up trying, I feel sad and really furious when I hear of young children beaten up by their abusive parents, families who cannot afford to send their seven children to school because of poverty, or worse, desperate parents selling their baby to strangers for ten thousand pesos, just so they can afford pamasahe to go home to their province. *&%$#!@ €#$ di ba?

Fine. Medyo selfish naman talaga ang arguments ko. Bago sumama lalo ang loob ko, sige na nga, gawin na lang nating katatawanan ang hinanakit ko sa mundo. Let me focus on some of the more obvious, hilarious, and almost crazy reasons why I feel that life is unfair, ok… sometimes….

At parang gusto pa talagang mang-asar ng mundo:

Hmmmmmmmmpft.

I’m sure these people deserve their good fortunes but hey, allow me to rant and be envious in my own blog.
