Tim Urban over Alex Lambert?! Seriously?!

Alex Lambert and Lilly Scott -- two of my favorite AI contestants got axed today. I think American got it so wrong this time! I mean, Tim Urban? Lacie Brown? Seriously??! And to have him there standing next to Andrew Garcia who has had just one good performance and messed up all his other performances, is just effing frustrating! How Taylor Hicks became American Idol while a talent like Alex Lambert can't even make it to the Top 12 is something I will never understand about the AI-voting Americans. Lilly said it perfectly --- a lot of talents are going home with this latest elimination. Like her, I can't understand what America is looking for. Upon realization, though, I know now that I dont share the same taste as the voting public. And that could be a good thing, too.

People were raving about Tim's rendition of Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah. It was fine but it was not really that special. Jason Castro sang it so much better, for crying out loud! Certainly not as good as this ----

Could not bear to look at Alex Lambert's farewell performance. My heart was breaking.

My American Idol Season 9 Early Favorites

If there is one contestant that I would love to see at the finals of this season's American Idol, then it would be Alex Lambert. I love everything about this guy -- his personality, his shyness, his humility, and the voice....! The voice is just amazing!

My male runners-up

Lee Dewyze - who can resist his husky voice? I am a big fan of Creed-husky voice. Also I want to see those sad, hypnotic, dreamy sexy eyes for many, many, many more weeks.
-

Casey James - first and foremost he plays badass electric guitar! He's yummy and can sing too! Loved him on Hollywood week. Cougars like him (ehem)... he's hot and very commercial.
-

Aaron Kelly - big voice for somebody very young. Let's hope his big voice takes him far enough because he wont get another shot at AI after this. Still waiting for him to sing something hip and young.
-
I've always been partial to male contestants because I'm not very fond of belting notes as high as the heavens, and female contestants always do that. But, OK here are my female favorites:

Lilly Scott is my most favorite female contestant because she is fresh, unique, and indie. She plays guitar, sings the most unpopular songs and a cross between Jewel and Lily Allen, two artists that I really like. For me she is the coolest female contestnat.
-

And my female runners-up:

Crystal Bowersox - very talented. Very Indigo Girls. I would say, very American. She is the most promising in terms of landing recording deals among the ladies. Although I wouldn't mind if she fights it out with Lambert on the finals, I think she lacks charisma to keep the people interested while in a contest like AI.
-
Siobhan Magnus - if Lilly Scott is cool, this girl is simply flip! She's very interestting -- sometimes geeky, sometimes classy. But boy can she belt out a song. She is somebody that you either love because she is never boring, or hate because her eccentricity can be annoying for some. Well... I love her! Never liked boring.
-

Katie Stevens - same comments as Aaron Kelly!

Rooting for Alex...! I hope a Lambert wins this season!

My Favorite Song this Month : Empire State Of Mind Part 2 (Alicia Keys)

If I ever become a pop star, I wanna be like Alicia Keys (or Gwen Stefani). She's gorgeous. She's talented. She has a beautiful voice. She plays the piano. She's cool.

This song is definitely on repeat mode this month.
